Intermittent/Fast Diet

I've heard some talk about Intermittent dieting and also the Fast diet , aka the 5:2 diet, where you restrict your calories on 2 non-consecutive days each week but eat as you would normally on the other 5 days of the week. I wonder how effective/healthy this approach would be. I usually skip lunch anyway so it seems like it might be a good fit.

Not trying to be a jerk in any way here but if you're already skipping a meal and you're not losing weight then perhaps it's not such a great fit after all?

No offence taken. That's why I'm here...I want to get some honest feedback. Thanks for your post.

Intermittent fasting has really helped me to maintain my weight over the years. Not sure how it would work for weight loss as you still need to feed your body and skipping meals can lead to binges in some cases. Definitely wouldn't suggest it for anyone who is pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant and I don't imagine it would be a good solution for someone who is diabetic in that it would probably mess with blood sugar levels.

I suggest a good cleanse to shake any addiction to fat, salt and sugar and then try to eat when you're hungry. Letting yourself get too hungry can definitely lead to binge eating...at least it does with me
