Dieting and money management

Lately in addition to trying to keep my waistline in check I'm also trying to get my spending under control I've started tracking not only my food intake, but also how much I'm spending on groceries. It's made me curious to know how much other people spend on average. I spent about $10 a day on average last month but I feel like with some effort I could find ways to spend less.

I'm single btw, so if you are feeding a family, please include the number of people being fed in your post

I think $10 day is doing really well. I think a lot of it depends on where you shop and the kind of foods you buy. Fruits and veggies can get expensive...especially if you don't use them up before they spoil! Meat and fish can also be very expensive unless you know how to make use of whatever happens to be on special.
